It is now Saturday night in Uganda. The team has had a great week working in Busanna.

Tom finished the bookcases and pulpit and they look beautiful. Karen and Nancy have completed training the women of the village on the new sewing machines. Deb and Carrie have made great progress in setting up the new resource center. Matthew has spend time helping Tom and making some great connections with the children of the village. I was blessed to spend some wonderful time in both the villages of Simbobo and Busanna conducting bible studies with the adults. John spent the week coordinating the team, shuttling us to our various locations and tried to keep us all sane. Thanks John!

It has been a long week. Early in the week, we had issues at our hotel near the village in that they did not have reliable water and electricity at least for part of the day. Therefore, we decided to go back to our hotel in Jinja and drive 45 minutes back and forth each way to Busanna every day. While it did add time to our day, it was nice that we had a chance as a team to decompress from the busy day since most of us were each working on our own projects. The team also met at Pastor James’ house for lunch to recharge and connect.
On Thursday, we visited the elementary school. The school which is located behind the church educates over 230 children. The team got a chance to sing to the children and the children reciprocated by singing us some songs. Here are some pictures on the school and the children. Please note the picture of the new building that we have been helping to support and working toward completion.

We accomplished everything we set out to do which is great. Tomorrow, Tom, John and I will preach at the three village churches in the area and then out to the national park to begin our land and water safari before we head home on Sunday.
Karen and Nancy went home yesterday and we miss having them around already. Deb and Carrie went to the marriage introduction ceremony yesterday that was 6 hours northeast of our location. We will connect up with them tomorrow before we head into the park so they can join us for the trip. You will not want to miss my last blog as I will be posting our pictures from the safari.
Once again, thanks for checking in on us.
I will close with a few more pictures of the village children that Matthew loves to play with so much.
God bless,
David & Matt
